This year, artists will be coming from overseas.
This year marks the start of an event where European artists will stay, create works, and exhibit at a temple associated with Oda Nobunaga in Azuchi-cho, Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture from September through early October.
The event is being organized by "AT ARTS," and its representative is spatial artist Nonki Nishimura. "Artists also help with weeding and cleaning in the local area, and are immersed in Japanese culture. We hope that this will be an exciting event where people can interact with the artists," he said.
The head priest, Toshikazu Katsuyama, who is cooperating with the event, also expressed his hope that "at a time when war is raging, this peaceful and heartwarming event will bring together traditional Japanese culture with that of other countries."
There will also be an opportunity to interact with the artists, so be sure to check it out.
