By facing, touching, and shaping iron, I am trying to see what lies beyond it.
Form does not exist to tell a story. It simply exists there quietly, receiving light, being touched by the wind, and merging with the air and time of that place, and the landscape that unfolds beyond the form.
The boundaries between the artwork and the scenery, inside and outside, the creator and the observer—when these boundaries gradually dissolve, and the form becomes a part of the place, I believe something pure emerges, stripped of all unnecessary elements.
I want my sculptures to become one with the scenery beyond their form, leaving a quiet feeling in the hearts of those who see them.
