Born in Shiga Prefecture in 1985. Based on printmaking, she creates three-dimensional and installation works that draw inspiration from the history, beliefs, and stories intertwined with the land, creating spaces where people and land, past and present, and the ordinary and the extraordinary intersect. This time, the artist presents the sculpture Dragon God, inspired by the sacred tree and the dragon god of Chikubushima Island in Lake Biwa.

Since ancient times, Chikubushima, an island in Lake Biwa, has been home to nature worship such as faith in the dragon god, nurturing a wealth of myths.
This work focuses on the sacred tree of Chikubushima, from which a dragon is still said to rise out of the lake. The "raging dragon god" depicted in the myths was the very image of overwhelming nature that humans cannot resist. I welcome this dragon god, long feared and revered, into the work as a symbol that restores stagnant flows and reawakens broken cycles.
The sacred tree and the dragon god that emerge here quietly shake the boundaries between self and other, between humans and nature, freeing us, who live within orderly systems, from the frames of everyday life. Carving the unseen spiritual as a "certainty of existence," the work creates a place that meets the viewer's inner memories and senses.
